Nuggets’ Forward Partners with Denver Magazine to Help Underserved Groups in Denver
Denver, CO – The Carmelo Anthony Foundation today announced a new program entitled “15 on the 15th” in which Melo’s Studio 15 barbershop (www.Studio15Barbershop.com) will be utilized to provide haircuts to disadvantaged children and underserved adults in programs throughout the Denver area.
The Foundation is partnering with Denver Magazine to launch the initial program on Thursday, January 15th. From approximately 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., 15 children from Family Resources Center Association will receive free haircuts from the professional staff at Studio 15. Thanks to Denver-based American Crew, each child will also receive a personal care gift bag containing grooming products. Studio 15 is located at 1740 Blake Street in Denver’s LoDo District.
The “15 on the 15th” program is part of the Carmelo Anthony Foundation’s commitment to serving the communities that have impacted Melo’s life. On the 15th of each month, 15 disadvantaged children or underserved adults from programs throughout the Denver area will receive free haircuts at Studio 15. Each month, the Foundation will select a different organization as the beneficiary of the program.
“I created the ‘15 on the 15th’ concept as a program through which my Foundation could, at least in some small way, have a positive impact on someone’s life,” stated Melo. “Since disadvantaged children and adults in our community face challenges every day, we hope something as simple as a haircut will help in building their self-confidence.”
The Foundation is grateful to Denver Magazine for underwriting the program on January 15th. To sponsor one of the “15 on the 15th programs, please contact the Foundation via email at carmelocares@gmail.com.
